Our Story

Henry Martin Law is a solo practice law firm founded by its principal attorney, Henry Martin Abromson.  Henry, known as Hank to most, started his own firm to get back to what he feels is most important about the practice of law...establishing a trusted relationship with his clients by offering clients high-quality legal work, being attentive to his clients' legal needs, and providing them with sound, practical and cost-effective strategies to protect themselves and their businesses with the same vigilance and assertiveness as he protects his own.

Having worked in large firms for much of his career, Hank grew tired of the narrow focus on billable hours and "making numbers" that is ever-present in most of today's law firms.  Hank, as someone who often thinks outside the box, decided to break away from the big-firm norm to focus more on the relationship between attorney and client.

Hank is a business and intellectual property attorney who works with many small and emerging businesses, larger, already-established businesses and individuals. The focus of his practice includes: corporate entity formation, governance and maintenance; the negotiation, review and drafting of commercial contracts; the negotiation and  structuring of commercial transactions, including business and real estate sales and purchases; leasing; trademark, copyright, and trade secret protection; website agreements; domain name disputes; and the provision of general business counsel.

With a law degree and an M.B.A. from Marquette University and a B.S. degree in Marketing from The Pennsylvania State University, Hank is able to offer his clients comprehensive advice, which is based on both legal and business considerations.  Hank takes a pragmatic approach to analyzing and addressing complex legal and business problems. He serves his clients as a trusted legal and business advisor and integral team member, committed to helping them manage risks, find practical solutions to challenges and capitalize on opportunities.

Earning the trust of his clients and becoming a key component of their respective teams and business families, is what motivates Hank.  Watching his clients grow, achieve their goals, and reach their business aspirations is what excites him.

Hank serves on several corporate boards, including service as the President of the Board of Directors of the Fort Detrick Alliance, an organization devoted to promoting the importance of Fort Detrick to the community of Frederick, Maryland and is the founder of Club Next, a local group of young professionals poised to be the next group of business leaders and decision makers in Frederick, Maryland.

He is also an advocate for those in the craft brewing, winery and distillery industries as a member of the Brewers Association of Maryland, the Maryland Distillers Guild and the Maryland Wineries Association.  Hank works with many clients in the craft beverage industry.

Hank not only works in Frederick, but lives in Frederick as well with his wife, Elise, his two young boys, Andrew and Evan, his two labs, Charlie and Louie, and his cat, Kona.
